The decision behind the headline

The reviewed Platinum tier offers $800 more potential bonus than Business Essentials, but asks the business to commit $20,000 more new money and $20,000 more daily balance. U.S. Bank allows one business checking bonus per business; these tiers cannot be stacked.

Keep operating cash available.

Both promotions require new money from outside U.S. Bank or its affiliates within 30 days and the qualifying daily balance through day 60. A larger reward can still be a poor fit if the extra cash is needed for payroll, taxes, suppliers, or an emergency. Do not transfer money from another U.S. Bank product and count it as new money.

The monthly fee is a separate test.

Business Essentials lists no monthly maintenance fee. Platinum lists $30 per month unless a waiver applies. One waiver uses a $25,000 average collected checking balance; the bonus instead requires a $25,000 daily balance. Those are different calculations, so a bonus-qualifying balance does not by itself prove that the fee will be waived. Platinum also includes 550 transactions per statement cycle, then lists $0.40 per additional transaction; other service charges may apply.

Complete six posted transactions.

Both tiers require six qualifying transactions within 60 days based on posted dates. U.S. Bank includes eligible debit purchases, ACH or wire credits and debits, Zelle activity, mobile check deposits, check debits, eligible business bill pay, and Payment Solutions receipts. Internal transfers, credit-card payments and other person-to-person payments do not qualify. Keep a record of the six posted items rather than relying on pending activity.

Clarify when the balance clock starts.

The issuer permits funding within 30 days but also describes maintaining the required balance for 60 days after opening. Confirm with U.S. Bank how it treats days before a deposit arrives; do not assume depositing on day 30 satisfies the full balance requirement. A weekend or federal-holiday opening is treated as the next business day under the promotion.

Compare potential value after costs.

Run the bank bonus calculator twice: enter the reviewed reward and balance for each tier, then your expected fees, actual holding days and a documented alternative APY. The incremental $800 is before fees, tax and interest you could have earned elsewhere. The result still depends on eligibility and completing every condition; it is not a guaranteed return.

Check eligibility and payout.

Existing U.S. Bank business checking customers and businesses that closed one of these accounts within the prior 12 months are excluded. Current U.S. Bank employees are excluded. U.S. Bank says the bonus is paid within 30 days after the month-end in which all requirements are met, if the account remains open with a positive available balance. Save the exact Q3DIG26 offer before opening; the stated promotion ends September 27, 2026 and can be withdrawn earlier.
